You may have already studied some Spanish
before and this course will build on the knowledge you already have and improve your competency and confidence.
There's
no better way to consolidate a language learned than to speak it, live it and breathe it. This 5 day Spanish immersion
course gives you everything you need to take your learning to another level. But this isn't just an academic course,
it is about living the Spanish way and so as well as 4 hours specific language tuition in the mornings, you will be using what
you have learned in the afternoons with communication based activities.
By the end of this 5 day course
you will have improved your level of Spanish, learned to make the famous 'Paella', tasted local wines and seen how
they are produced and maybe even had a go at flamenco dancing! All of this just an hour away from Spain's most accessible
airport and in the beautiful and untouched countryside of Castilla La Mancha.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Using the communicative
approach to teaching a language, the course will consist of 4 hours of language tuition daily. Depending on your level, you
will make a review of Spanish grammar using a variety of interactive and modern materials. Your vocabulary will increase through
carefully designed articles, exercises and roleplays and a speacial focus will be made on pronunication and listening comprehension. At
all times during your stay you will be encouraged to put into practice what you have been learning. The idea is that
by immersing yourself in the language 24 hours a day for 5 days, you will learn so much more than you can from weekly lessons.
AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS
After lunch
you get the opportunity to partake in activities such as guided walks, horseriding, excursions to local places of interest,
wine making/tasting, Olive oil tasting. There will be an evening show from a local flamenco musician where you get the
opportunity to learn a little of this famous Spanish dance. During all of these activities you will be accompanied by
your Spanish teacher who will encourage you to practice what you have already learned and you will be given the chance to
speak to the locals and integrate into the village.
ACCOMMODATION
This course in held
in the rustic 14th Century country houses of 'La Laguna', La Laguna is a small estate which
is comprised of 3 country houses, set in their own grounds of vegetable patches, almond trees and the rolling Castilla
La Mancha countryside. La Laguna is 7km from the village of Alpera, in beautiful Don Qujote countryside, surrounded
by windmills and unspolit 'vistas'.
THE HOUSES
You will stay in quaint high wooden-beamed
ceilinged country houses with rooms which can accommodate 2-6 people in ample sized bedrooms. Each house has
its own large living room, dining room and equipped kitchen. Towels and sheets are provided.
LA
LAGUNA
La Laguna is run by the friendly uncle and nephew team Gonzalo and Jaime, who will be very happy for you
to practice your newly learned Spanish on them. The estate has a cafeteria/restaurant where you will be served all your
meals which will be cooked by the local restaurant. There's a large BBQ area with wood burning oven and paella kitchens
where you will get the opportunity to learn how to cook some of Spain's famous cuisine. La Laguna has a wine
cellar and the owners will be more than happy to let you sample their fine wines and delicious but somewhat leathal, liquors.
To relax between activities and classes there's a small swimming pool and landscaped gardens or you can
take a little walk and visit the 'La Laguna' animals such as the donkeys, chickens and geese.
